Hello anglers, Today we had excellent yellowtail fishing on the coast south of Cedros Island. The majority of the fish were in the 15 pound class. There were a few bigger and a few smaller. Yo-Yo iron was the primary method used with two colors working really well: good old blue and white 6Xjr and 6X regular. Also the “scrambled egg” color with 40 to 60 pound test line, and a 4-1 or 6-1 gear ratio reel. Drop that iron to the bottom, turn the handle as fast as you can and you had a bite! One of the classic errors that anglers make is to wind the iron all the way to the surface. We recommend winding up part-way from the bottom. It saves your arm and the majority of the bites are closest to the bottom where the fish are. Everyone had a great time this morning and everyone landed enough yellowtail. We hope tomorrow we can get some dorado to end the trip on a high note. Capt Art
