Hello anglers, Well what can we say about the last 2 days? We worked our butts off in a different area than the rest of the fleet in hopes of finding something new. We stayed in good water 125 to 150 miles southwest of San Diego, but we didn’t find any fish. Last night we got a report of a sign of albacore out on the San Juan Seamount which was 150 miles from where we were and 190 miles from San Diego. We ran up there for a chance at some albies. It was a gamble but we figured we couldn’t do much worse, so we went for it. Unfortunately we only caught one 12-pound albie. It was something that we needed to check out, but it didn’t pay off. On the positive side there is still incredible yellowtail fishing at Cedros Island, so for those of you planning a trip or already have one planned, the prospects are good on 4 day trips or longer. If you have a shorter trip planned. there is still a good sign of bluefin tuna and albacore at 100 miles from San Diego, and one of these days we’re going to get even with those fish that aren’t biting now.
