Hello anglers, The afternoon was pretty good fishing with plenty of action on mixed-grade yellowfin tuna. We ended up with 66 fish for our 22 anglers. Half of the fish are in the 50 to 70 pound range and the rest are 20 pound average. We landed one fish over 100 pounds, caught by Doug Nance of San Diego. Most of the fish were caught on 50-pound test line and a 5/0 circle hook, with a flyline sardine. John Curtis (from England) landed three of the better grade tuna. John purchased a CalStar 700 graphite rod prior to coming on this trip and is very pleased to have a “proper” rod for the trip. Almost everyone landed a good-grade tuna so there are some sore muscles on deck tonight. We are spending the night and trying again tomorrow with the same program. The weather is great with calm winds and seas. Capt Art
