Trip #29 Ultra-limited load 7-day trip (Nov 2-9)

November 8th, 2019|Categories: Trip Reports|

Good Evening anglers,

We wrapped up our trip here with some wide open action on smaller grade yellowtail.  We released quite a few but there were some worthy of a tag.  Here’s one of the large schools we stopped on this afternoon.  That’s a wrap for this trip and our fishing season.  Thanks for fishing with us this year, we hope to see everyone back again next year.

Good morning anglers,

This morning we were able to scratch up a few hand fulls of 15-18lb yellowtail on the yoyo lures.  It was not red hot but non the less we had some action,  We have a few hours this afternoon as well to fish this area before we have to call it a trip.  Here’s Steve L. with one of his 3 he caught this morning. Here is your tackle tip of the day to catch yellowtail  is a Salas 6x scrambled egg color.

Good evening anglers,

We left the main bank this morning after our tuna bite tapered off to search of kelps. We found a couple kelps loaded with dorado and a few wahoo. We were able to scratch up a nice afternoon on the wahoo. It’s all smiles and high fives today. We’ll be on the beach somewhere tomorrow looking for yellowtail. Here’s Garrick and Tater (Ron) with a pair of kelp ‘hoos.

Good Morning anglers,

We’re getting a shot at some better grade tuna this morning up to 35lbs.  They’re boiling around the boat.  Here’s one Shoeless Tom caught on the popper this morning.  We’re going to go looking for wahoo this afternoon.

Good morning anglers,

This morning we scratched on yellowfin tuna 10-25lbs and a handful of wahoo.  We’re seeing both but not getting a whole lot of bites down here.  Hoping for more biting fish this afternoon. Here is John L. and one of his wahoo he caught on the wahoo bomb. Looking for a good wahoo recipe hook it here.

Good Afternoon anglers,

This morning we’ve had some phenomenal wahoo and dorado fishing on kelps.  We stopped 60 miles short of The Ridge at the crack of dawn on a trash can size kelp loaded with dorado and wahoo.  We started heading south and found another kelp loaded up. So we decided to work back up and have had fish around us ever since. Here’s Todd A. with a size large wahoo he caught on a wahoo bomb.

Good evening anglers:

The action remained steady all day today. We opted to stay in this area and fish kelps all day. We stopped on multiple kelps this afternoon and each of them had wahoo and dorado on them. We’ll be on The Ridge tomorrow. Here’s big Tom W. with another big wahoo.
