Where’s Bootz? Round Two!

January 6th, 2016|Capt Art's Blog, News|

When Bootz isn’t on the job as our Searcher Sportfishing official spokesperson, he’s vacationing in some interesting destination!

During this off-season, he’s been sending the Searcher Office regular updates about his travels, but his communications have been incomplete!

We need the help of our Searcher friends to figure out his location!  He really had us guessing during Round One…

Are you ready for Round Two?

Here’s a photo of Bootz at his second stop:

Where’s Bootz? Round One Winners!

Happy New Year to our Searcher friends!

Remember this?

We need the help of our Searcher friends to figure out his location!”

from Captain Art’s Blog, 12/21/15

Well, Bootz had all of us guessing about his first vacation location!

Your guesses ranged from Hawaii to Singapore and from Hong Kong to New York City.

Walla Walla, Washington was even in the mix!

But that tricky Bootz was not in any of those places…

He was visiting beautiful Toronto, Ontario in Canada and was staying at the Radisson Admiral Harbourfront Hotel!  Bootz got his fill of poutine, and then jetted off for his next destination! 🙂

Our winner for this month is Searcher friend Howard Folmer!  He used his sleuthing skills to figure out where Bootz was, and for his efforts, he will receive two admission tickets to the 2016 FRED HALL FISHING TACKLE & BOAT SHOW to be held at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.

Rob Peterson guessed correctly as well! He was selected in the runner-up drawing and will receive a warm Searcher beanie for those cold winter nights!

Congratulations to ALL of our Searcher friends who sent in their guesses, including the following honorary detectives who also deduced the correct location of Bootz, our official Searcher Sportfishing spokesperson!

Bootz is still on the move, and the guessing game continues!

“Where’s Bootz?” – Round Two begins next week, so don’t forget to check back here to Captain Art’s Blog for your clue!

The Great Bait Tank Upgrade of 2015

November 30th, 2015|Capt Art's Blog, News|

“Hey, where’s the bait tank?”

If you tuned in to the “Let’s Talk Hook-up” radio program on 1090 AM on November 21, you were one of the first to hear the news! Captain Art announced our exciting project coming up in December on Searcher.
Listeners learned that after the end of our fishing season this fall, Art and the crew removed the 45-year old bait tanks from our deck! We are always looking at ways to improve the fishing experience for our Searcher anglers, so more bait capacity and increased deck space seemed to be just the improvement needed for 2015.
Now we are busy researching elements for our new, upgraded bait tank. Several ideas were discussed on the show: a new, narrower bait box so there’s more space between the tank and the rail, eliminating the need for trays or scoops, lighted bait wells, and maybe most important–more tanks and more bait capacity.

Help us design the ultimate Searcher bait tank!

Hey, Searcher friends!  Do YOU have an idea for an amazing bait tank mod?

How would you customize our new Searcher bait tank?

Cup holders, bait valet, integrated sound system? 🙂

Email your suggestions to jen@searchersportfishing.com

We welcome your input and your creativity!

Hello all,
We started our trip on the coast for yellowtail. We landed a few, and saw plenty that wouldn’t bite. Everyone had a chance to wet a line and get some of the rust off. We are heading further south to try a different spot later today.
The weather is fine with light winds and not much swell.  We will send another update tomorrow.

Searcher crew!! From Captain Aaron serving dinner to Ed in the galley hooking and handing off fish, the deck hands were on point and there at the drop of a hat to pick a good bait, cast, tie a hook, untangle a birds nest and so on. And don’t forget chef Charles–unbelievable food. We never went hungry between 4-course dinners, lunches, and snacks. The whole crew knew exactly what the next move was and were able to help in all aspects of the trip. So from the “ZZ Bottom Crew,” I wanna say how much we appreciated the most enjoyable trip. Fishing is called fishing for a reason and fact that Captain Aaron put us on so many quality fish is a bonus to me and my friends.
P.s. Please send a 2016 schedule so we can plan for a much longer trip.

Sunday August 16 road closures

August 14th, 2015|News|

The annual America’s FInest City Marathon is taking place on Sunday, August 16 and there will be road closures in the vicinity of Fishermans Landing between 7-9 a.m.
Typically, cars are allowed in and out of the Ace Parking lot only when there is a break in the flow of runners. After the main group of runners passes, the traffic goes back to about normal. They expect 7,000 runners!
Please plan accordingly and pack some patience. The trip arriving that morning will need extra time to exit the lot, and you may be delayed in entering the lot, especially between 7:30-8:30 a.m. (This is an estimate, since there’s no telling the speed of the runners, etc.)
More details here: http://www.afchalf.com/Race_Weekend/Road_Closures.htm
