Hello Searcher friends!

Well, when Bootz sent us his clue for Round 4 of “Where’s Bootz?” – we had no idea he would stump EVERYONE!  Our Searcher detectives were detoured by Bootz’ tricky ways until he sent his extra clue (“It’s not a bridge!”) after the guessing deadline passed.

After that, it was only a short time before some of our Searcher sleuthers figured out where Bootz was!

He was at the Maid of the Mist overlook tower at Niagara Falls, on the US side.  He must have snapped the pic before embarking on the Falls voyage.  We bet Bootz didn’t need to wear a rain poncho when they entered the Horseshoe Falls basin!

Congratulations to “Where’s Bootz?” All-Star and Round 4 winner John Plowman!  He wins a Searcher beanie AND a pack of 4/0 Owner circle hooks – Captain Art’s favorite!

ownerlogoRunner up goes to another “Where’s Bootz?” All-Star, Ron Shultz, who made his quick deduction as soon as the second clue was published!  Ron won a pack of 4/0 Owner circle hooks!

Honorary detective is Mike Sterenchuk, who also guessed the correct location!

Congrats to all who helped us to finally FIND BOOTZ!

I wonder what Bootz will be up to next???????

– Jen 🙂

Did you see Bootz at the Long Beach show?  He had a blast posing for photos with our Searcher friends!  But as soon as the show ended, he took off for his next adventure. When Bootz isn’t on the job as our Searcher Sportfishing official spokesperson, he’s vacationing in some interesting destination!

As you know, during this off-season he’s been sending the Searcher Office regular updates about his travels, but his communications have always been incomplete!

We need the help of our Searcher friends to figure out his location!  He really had us guessing during Round Three…

Are you ready for Round Four?

Here’s a photo of Bootz at his fourth stop:

New Bait Tank Status Report from Captain Art!

March 3rd, 2016|Capt Art's Blog, News|

Hello anglers!
We have an exciting update to share about our new bait tank, which will be installed in time for the 2016 fishing season! We have done quite a bit of research looking at other tanks around the fleet and we have come up with what we feel is a great bait tank! Notable improvements include new hand wells on the port and starboard side that are bigger, so multiple anglers can access hook bait at once rather than having to wait in line for a bait. We won’t be using scoops or baskets with the new tank.
Our capacity will increase slightly, not sure yet how much but we will have more bait aboard!
There will be more room in between the rail and the tank on the sides.
Also we will reconfigure the fish box to each side of the tank which will make things operate better to get your fish in the RSW quicker!
Check out the schematic of the new bait tank – we will update with photos as construction progresses!
Lots of improvements this off-season – we’re excited!!!

We need the help of our Searcher friends to figure out his location!”

from Captain Art’s Blog, 2/9/16

Well, Bootz had all of us guessing about his third vacation location!

Your guesses ranged across several locations from the Channel Islands all the way south to Cabo San Lucas!

But that sneaky Bootz was not in any of those places…

He was visiting beautiful Catalina Island in California, and the photo was snapped on his way to Avalon!  He was enjoying some rest and relaxation before heading to Long Beach to man the Searcher booth at the upcoming Fred Hall Fishing Tackle and Boat Show 🙂

Our winner for this month is Searcher friend Brian Dilley!  He used his sleuthing skills to figure out where Bootz was, and for his efforts, he will receive two admission tickets to the 2016 FRED HALL FISHING TACKLE & BOAT SHOW to be held at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.  Join Celia and Jen at the Searcher Sportfishing booth to take a photo with Bootz!

Arturo Jacinto guessed correctly as well! He was selected in the runner-up drawing and will receive an admission ticket to the Fred Hall Show in Long Beach!

Congratulations to ALL of our Searcher friends who sent in their guesses, including Monica Flores, the honorary detective who also deduced the correct location of Bootz, our official Searcher Sportfishing spokesperson!

Bootz is still on the move, and the guessing game continues!

“Where’s Bootz?” – Round Four begins next week, so don’t forget to check back here to Captain Art’s Blog for your clue!

Exciting Off-season Updates and Upgrades!

February 12th, 2016|Capt Art's Blog, News|

During our recent dry dock at Al Larson Boat Shop in San Pedro, California, Captain Art and crew replaced the 45-year-old fuel tanks, applied fuel-efficient hull paint, and made preparations for our exciting new bait tanks! Those new tanks are being fabricated now and will be installed before fishing season begins. They’ll sport an expanded capacity, improved wells, better access to the bait, and keep your bait in tip-top shape.

Searcher’s salon got a facelift too. New upholstery for dining booths, new carpeting, and new woodwork accents were added for your enjoyment during meals, relaxing, and our famous “Movie Nights!” (Gourmet popcorn bar included.)

Dreaming about a return of 2015’s excellent fishing? Don’t miss out, book early and join the Searcher family!

Well, Bootz had all of us guessing about his second vacation location!

Your guesses ranged from San Francisco to Vancouver, BC, and even included the Northern Ontario Trans Canada Highway.

But that trickster Bootz was not in any of those places…

He was visiting southern Louisiana, cruising down the Mississippi River just underneath the John James Audubon bridge!  He had his fill of beignets with café au lait and promptly jetted off to his next destination 🙂

Our winner for this month is Searcher friend Ron Schulz!  He used his sleuthing skills to figure out where Bootz was, and for his efforts, he will receive two admission tickets to the 2016 FRED HALL FISHING TACKLE & BOAT SHOW to be held at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.

Tomas Weaver guessed correctly as well! He was selected in the runner-up drawing and will receive a warm Searcher beanie for those cold winter nights!
