Hello all,

We focused on yellowtail again this morning.  We had some opportunities and landed a few. The ones we did land are nice sized fish! Here is Joe Tyler with Captain Aaron and his nice yellowtail caught on a dropper loop setup with 80 pound test.

We are headed back to the tuna area for this afternoon. Lunch was one of my favorites! Grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with fresh tomato basil soup!!!!

Hello all,

A different day today with less current than yesterday. There was a really good sign of tuna around lunch time for about an hour and then the current decreased and the fish left. Dennis Rehkop from Texas landed his first tuna of the trip today. It was a yellowfin tuna, over 100 pounds. It was not his first opportunity with several yesterday and one other chance today. Hoping for more chances tomorrow.

Hello all,,

We had good fishing this afternoon! Plenty of opportunity to catch a good size yellowfin tuna. We saw lots of fish and we hooked plenty! We had the usual losses that come with fishing big tuna with heavy line and tight drags. We took care of some passengers that hadn’t landed a tuna so far annd everyone got to pull on multiple fish. Looking forward to tomorrow already. Here are fishing buddies JoeTyler and Dave Tang with their pair of fish over 100 pounds each.

Hello all,

Trying for yellowtail this morning. There is an opportunity to catch a quality yellowtail in just about every place you stop here. Chris Mohs from Ventura and crewmember Mike landed this nice yellowtail on a flyline mackerel and 60 pound test line. Hoping for some action on yellowfin tuna this afternoon.

Hello all,

We arrived at Guadalupe Island this afternoon and had some nice action on yellowfin tuna. Fly line sardine on 80 pound line with 80 pound fluoro carbon and an Owner 4/0 circle hook was the preferred method. Almost everyone had a bite this afternoon. Here is Bruce Gothar with his 123 pound yellowfin tuna.

We are spending the night and trying here again tomorrow.

Howdy anglers, we got lucky and found a kelp today that had some dorado on it! We also saw lots of kelps with no fish on them as well – anyways, we’re calling it a trip and we’re headed into Ensenada tonight to be back at our dock tomorrow(Saturday). Here is Ken Hoffman with one of the dorados from today.

Howdy anglers,

The tuna were around and we had our chances with them –  it was still tough with the sharks and also due to tackle failures, but we had fun! Here is Chester Mordasini with his tuna from this afternoon. We’re leaving tonight to look for some kelps for a couple of hours before we head into Ensenada to clear.

See you all on Saturday morning,

Howdy anglers,

The tuna were there and they put on a show for us this afternoon.  We started out not so well by losing some due to sharks and tackle failures. We did manage to get some tuna aboard: here is Mike Einstoss with his nice tuna from this afternoon.  We’re gonna spend our last day here looking for more yellowtail and then finish off with some tuna before we head across back to the coast.
