Howdy anglers:

We enjoyed another day of steady action on tuna with wahoo mixed in. We finished our last day down around The Ridge, and are moving up to the beach to try for some yellowtail.

The weather has improved and the forecast shows it getting even better. Ron Bryan hooked many wahoo, and managed to land this one with the help of Capt Ryan Stahl.

And many thanks to sponsor Seeker Fishing Rods!SEEKER_logo-300x100

Howdy anglers:

We had some action this morning on a couple of wahoo, but they aren’t very hungry. We’ve seen some, but they are not interested in what we have to offer.

We had some action on yellowfin tuna though! Going for more this afternoon.

Long-time Searcher friend, Allen A, got a nice yellowfin tuna today. Capt Ben was at the gaff.

Howdy anglers,

We had a great morning here had some really good tuna fishing! There was some wahoo mixed in as well. The  grade of tuna is 12-40 lbs, a few really nice tuna. The wahoo were biting live bait and lures.

The wahoo bombs have seemed to be a little more effective on the wahoo over others.

We’re moving down the line a little to try another spot this afternoon.trip 30bloodydeck

Howdy anglers,

We’ve had a great afternoon fishing for wahoo. We’re gonna stay here and try it again in the morning for our last day down here before moving north.

Here is Jeff K with a nice wahoo assist by Capt Jed.  TRIP30KEALOHA

We’re also hoping for some nighttime action. We have already caught four pargo, so tonight might be fun.

Wish us luck this afternoon!

howdy anglers,

We’ve had a fantastic day here on The Ridge catching wahoo and tuna all afternoon! We had a good school of yellowfin tuna (12-33 pounds) that were very eager. We’re staying the night right here, hoping for a night bite and to repeat the day all over.

On another note Jeremiah Graham caught his first wahoo on his grandfather’s lugnut lure! Cheers to you, Walt!

October 17th, 2016|Trip Reports|

Howdy anglers: Today was a travel day today since we are headed towards The Ridge. We will be arriving mid-morning on Monday, so we needed the prep time today. The weather is OK, we have a little breeze this afternoon, but we’re making good speed. I went back to my roots today. My first job, over 19 years ago, was making pretzels. Chef Charley made some pretzel dough and I went to work for the afternoon snack!trip30pretzels
